The new book by W. H. Suhrawardi Gebel, No God or Only God, will ship later this month and is available for pre-order now. The book can also be purchased as part of a discounted three-book bundle with the author’s earlier books.
“Look for God not in the abstract, in the heavens, in the transcendent, but let your imagination work on God the Immanent. Find God in nature, in your relationships with others, and in your inner feelings. . . . What we find in nature, in family and friends, and in our self is beauty. By opening the heart we find beauty, and by finding beauty we open the heart.”

The Alchemy of Happiness, Volume VI of the Sufi Message Series

Also going to press is volume VI of the Centennial Edition Sufi Message Series, The Alchemy of Happiness, expected in July. We are now opening pre-orders for these volumes, in both hardcover and paperback. This newest Message book will be the foundational text for Pir Zia Inayat Khan’s autumn course.

From the chapter Communicating with Life:
“And if one goes still further in the path of intuition one comes to what we call revelation, which means that every thing and every being reveals to one its secret. One finds that every leaf has a tongue to tell its legend. One finds that every soul is a living book that reads its own story. One finds that every condition of life is turned inside out before one the moment one begins to look at it. One feels that one is at home on earth and in heaven, that both the here and the hereafter become manifest to one’s soul.”—Hazrat Inayat Khan

What is unique about the Centennial Edition series of Sufi Message volumes?

Last month we spoke of the editorial philosophy of the Centennial Edition series, about how we make the most minimal changes possible to the original lecture transcriptions for inclusiveness and readability. This month we would like to draw your attention to another unique feature of the volumes, which is the Sources in the back of each volume. The painstaking work of the archivist at the Nekbakht Foundation, Anne Louise Wirgman, in locating the source of each text in the orange volume series, is made available to you in the Sources section of each of our volumes. This allows you to easily find the original lecture transcriptions in the Complete Works for any chapter in our volume, with all their detailed footnotes, should you want to study it more closely. In this forthcoming volume, only three chapters are not yet published in the Complete Works, and of those three, two are published in our Social Gathekas: Sufi Wisdom on Social Harmony and Service. The year of the lecture is noted for these three chapters.

A multi-year undertaking of the Inayatiyya Music Activity and the descendants of Pyaromir Maheboob Khan will soon be coming to fruition. A full compilation of piano sheet music of the Complete Works of Maheboob Khan is expected this fall. The composer was a poet-philosopher, musician, and the younger brother of Hazrat Inayat Khan. The book will contain 80 songs in languages including English, Hindi, Urdu, Persian, and Arabic. Songs are set to the words of Hazrat Inayat Khan, Rumi, Hafiz, and other poets. Each song will have a written introduction by Shaikh-al-Mashaik Mahmood Khan, and a translation where needed.
