Sufi Quarterly Magazines 1915 to 1936
From 1915 to 1936 a series of quarterly magazines were published in London for the early community of followers of Hazrat Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan. The earliest was Sufi, published between 1915 to 1920 in wartime London with Hazrat Inayat Khan himself as editor. This was followed by Sufism from the years 1921 to 1924, produced and edited by his dedicated student Sophia Saintsbury-Green. Later The Monthly Record and The Sufi Record followed between the years 1925 to 1936. Through this fascinating window into the early years of the community, one can follow the development of the Ten Sufi Thoughts, the Objects of the Sufi Order, and the development of the Sufi Order (later Sufi Movement). Read reports of Inayat Khan’s tours in Europe and his first return to the USA in 1923, and reports of activities in the different countries; the annual Summer School held in Suresnes, France; and copies of the minutes of the annual meeting of the Sufi Movement held at International Headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland.
