We are pleased to make available three volumes of magazine collections from the early years of the Sufi Movement. From 1915 to 1936 a series of quarterly magazines were published in London for the early community of followers of Hazrat Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan. Peer through this fascinating window into the early years of the community in these three collections of original magazine facsimiles.
From February 1915 to October 1920 when Hazrat Inayat Khan was living in wartime London, the quarterly magazine Sufiwas published, with Inayat Khan himself as editor. This collection reproduces all fourteen issues. Within it one can follow the development of the Ten Sufi Thoughts, the Objects of the Sufi Order, and the development of the Sufi Order (later Sufi Movement), wrapped in an enchanting Art Deco aesthetic
The quarterly magazine Sufism followed in the years 1921 to 1924, produced and edited by Sophia Saintsbury-Green, an early and dedicated student of Hazrat Inayat Khan. This collection reproduces all thirteen issues. Within it one can follow the development of the Sufi Order through the reports of Inayat Khan’s tours in Europe and his first return to the USA in 1923.
This collection contains the six issues of The Monthly Record from 1925, and The Sufi Record from 1928 to 1936 that aimed to benefit the members of the Sufi Movement by keeping them informed of the proceedings at International Headquarters and of occurrences in the Movement everywhere. There are regular reports of activities in the different countries; the annual Summer School held in Suresnes, France; copies of the minutes of the annual meeting of the Sufi Movement held at International Headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland.
Let us remind you of the availability of two new volumes of The Complete Works published by the Nekbakht Foundation: 1926 Vol III and Vol IV, as well as of the 50% sale of most previous volumes. The new volumes include lectures from the last Summer School in Suresnes, and from Inayat Khan’s visit to the United States, two poems given to Sakina Furnée, a wedding speech, and Inayat Khan’s obituary.
The ship date for the new edition of Caravan of Souls is approaching, although delayed to mid-February. We will be updating all who have pre-ordered as the ship date approaches. This is a foundational text for all murids, as well as anyone interested in learning about the history of the Inayatiyya, with essential teachings and methods of the order, as well as an inspiring array of sayings, poems, songs, prayers, stories, and biographical portraits.
